This program teachings surface preparation, floor coatings, bridge coatings, tank coatings, pipe coatings, coatings inspections, hazardous containment, lead abatement, and specialty coatings.

The apprenticeship program is earn while you learn, and every participant in the program will have a job.
As an apprentice, you will take part in classroom instruction as well as on the job training. At least one (or more) journeyman worker will supervise each apprentice while working on the job to instruct them.
INDUSTRIAL COATINGS & SANDBLASTING RATE INCREASE SCHEDULE
60%: 0-750 OJT and less than 72 class hours
65%: 751 OJT and in excess of 72 Class Hours
70%: 1501 OJT and in excess of 144 Class Hours
75%: 2251 OJT and in excess of 216 Class Hours
80%: 3001 OJT and in excess of 288 Class Hours
85%: 3751 OJT and in excess of 360 Class Hours
90%: 4501 OJT and in excess of 433 Class Hours
95%: 5251 OJT and in excess of 504 Class Hours
To Graduate: 6000 OJT and at least 576 Class Hours

All members of the IUPAT are eligible to pursue advanced career training and even college credits in our program. The Finishing Trades Institute offers continuing education programs for its members that allow them to earn college credits toward an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree.
